Mount Meru is the best for acclimatization prior to Mount Kilimanjaro climb; The Mountain is the third highest peak in Africa and is the second highest mountain in Tanzania at 4,568m.

Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International or similar Airport, pick up and transferred to the Hotel in Moshi or Arusha for overnight bed and breakfast.

There are two routes to Mirakamba 2500m the longest one for acclimatization and the short one. The routes from Momella gate 1597 meters above sea level to the Summit is punctuated by two sets of accommodation huts, Miriakamba Huts 2500ml is the first Hut, and the Second is Saddle Huts 3500m.

Day 1

The driver will pick you up at your hotel in the morning. We go to Momella Gate which is the starting point of your climb.
Here is where you will meet your crew, (guides, porters and the Ranger who will accompany you all the way to the summit of Mt. Meru (The socialist peak).
After all the registration and park fees payment (included in the price) you will start your hike with your guide and the ranger. But bear in mind that there are two ways to take you to Miriakamba hut (2500 masl) the first one is the long one which follows a 4WD and it is about 12km.

The second option is the trail which is the direct path and short way to get at Miriakamba hut and it is also steep, and we do recommend that you better start with the long way on the first day and do the shorter trail on the descent day.

Day 2

Early after breakfast you will continue with your ascent via Mgongo wa Tembo Ridge (Elephant Ridge) to Saddle Hut for hot lunch.
After Lunch you will have some rest and then later in the afternoon you will do the acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3800 masl). After the hike you will descend back to the Saddle hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Day three begin at midnight you will discuss with your guide the time to wake up before dinner. After that you will start your final ascent of mount Meru via Rhino point all the way to the socialist peak 4565 masl, for the sunrise and some photos as well as celebration. We are not going to be for hours at the top, and shortly after the arrival we will start our descent. And remember – whenever you reach the summit of any mountain you are just the half way of the climb, so once you are done you will descend to the saddle hut for some food (it can be breakfast or brunch depending on the time that we get back to the hut.
Note that if you are doing three days hike you will have to descend all the way to Momella gate where our driver will be waiting to pick you to the hotel.
But for 4 days hike you will descend to the first hut Miriakamba hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast you will continue with your descent to Momella Gate via the short trail where you will meet your driver guide who will take you to your hotel for a hot shower and celebration.
